About us

Overlake Best Buddies is a friendship chapter at The Overlake School in Washington dedicated to promote inclusion for those with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Given that our school is a private school with little to no IDD representation in our school body, we strive to spread the awareness about IDD to our school through making posters, fundraisers, events, and activities.

Beyond our school, we also connect with the bigger community through Adaptive Skating, visiting local elementary schools' IDD clubs, and holding events at libraries.

Our mission

Our mission is to spread inclusion for those with IDD everywhere! We ourselves are the living example of people who started out with no knowledge about IDD then grew into advocates in the field. We want to share this mindset and passion with many others who are not aware of this topic.
